Field Test - Measure Your Progress
Every successful training program starts with understanding where you are today. Our Field Test is a comprehensive physical performance assessment designed specifically for tennis players, providing valuable insights into the physical qualities that have the greatest impact on on-court performance. Whether you’re joining the academy for a short training block or a full season, this assessment offers a clear starting point and an objective way to monitor your development over time.
The test evaluates speed through 10 m and 20 m sprint tests, agility using the Spider Test and Change of Direction Test, lower-body power with the Countermovement Jump (CMJ), and upper-body and core power through medicine ball throws and serve speed analysis.
It also measures tennis-specific endurance using the Hit & Turn Test, providing an estimated VO₂max and heart rate response.
In addition, basic anthropometric data, including height, weight, BMI and arm span, are recorded.
Following the assessment, each player receives a detailed report outlining their overall physical profile, movement asymmetries, and personalized training recommendations designed to support their individual development.
The Field Test is ideally completed at the beginning of a player’s stay at the academy and can be repeated at the end of the training period or season. Comparing both assessments allows players and coaches to objectively measure physical progress, identify improvements, monitor changes in asymmetries and evaluate the effectiveness of the training program.
